Guy de Grandpré is a mining project development specialist with 20 years diverse experience of Country management, Corporate development and HR and CSR management within the mining sector in West and Central Africa.

He established H2G Management Services to convert this experience into delivering better mining project development practice on the ground for the benefit of international junior and mid-tier mining companies, on many resources including bauxite-alumina-aluminum, gold, copper, potash and iron ore, always with a focus on stakeholder management, environmental and social management, HR management, compliance with legal and regulatory framework and governance of local subsidiaries. He has extensive experience across Africa and is adaptable to various cross-cultural contexts, including areas of conflict, having integrated into different cultures with expatriate assignments in Mali, the Republic of Guinea, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Mauritania, Algeria, the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Guy is a skilled expert in the social acceptability of mining projects in Francophone Africa and in obtaining and maintaining the "social license to operate" through local government, community engagement and shared value creation. He has also contributed to the development of bankable feasibility studies and ESIAs for many projects and the implementation of their management plans. Guy is fully conversant with IFC, ICMM, EITI and World Bank requirements, best practices, guidelines and standards, as well as other international standards and national regulations.

Previously, Guy held senior management positions in the Canadian banking industry.

Fully bilingual French/English, Guy studied International political science at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and earned a Master degree in Public Administration from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration Publique in Montreal.
